==== Automatic Maintenance ====
The server shuts down each day at **11:01h UTC** for an offline backup and server restart. Warnings will be posted to the world chat starting ten minutes before the shut-down. The shut-down ensures that a clean backup of the world is made and helps keep memleaks from the server process under control. The down-time is typically less than one minute. The [[world maps]] are also updated at this time. Performance may decrease for a few minutes while the maps render.

  * Players have priority over idlers at all times. Idlers may be kicked at any time if necessary.

      * If the server crashes, it should be restarted automatically within five minutes. Please wait ''five minutes'' for the server to come back up. If it does not, let us know.
      * Did you lose items due to a server failure or serious bug? Send us a list of lost items, and we'll give them back.

  * Report harassing or concerning behavior. Please read [[abuse|these instructions]] first.

  * Edit the routes and areas displayed on the [[https://theparadox.us/nether/|nether maps]].
    * For technical reasons, only the admins can edit the routes. If you don't like the name we've picked for a route, feel free to propose a better one.
    * All "point" markers on all our maps are generated from in-game signs. You can edit them [[world maps|yourself]]!

  * Perform surveying: Make sure you're not building in someone's backyard. An admin will help you check this, if you want.

  * Set or reset your wiki password: We'll get you up and running.

  * Obtain schematics: Your builds are //yours.// On request, we will do our best to provide you with Minecraft save files that contain your own builds and creations. Due to the ever-changing save-file format, this option is not always available.
