==== Gate Room ==== | ==== Gate Room ==== |
The Mt. Paradox gate room was built as an experimental foray into extra-dimensional travel. Because other dimensions can hold both cataloged and unknown terrors, every precaution was taken to ensure that the experiments were conducted safely. The gate room was constructed deep underground, away from population and food production centers. A stairwell, shown in the left of the image, leads down through a man trap and into the gate area. The entire gate room facility can be locked down by pulling a single lever, which is located above the observation window in the control room. The lock-down places several layers of doors between the gate and the outside world. The room containing the gate is covered by multiple, independently-controlled arrow dispensers. | The Mt. ==== Harbor ==== | ==== Harbor ==== |
The Harbor provides access to the lake which comprises the eastern border of Mt. Paradox. The harbor contains a single automatic boat launcher and recovery system, and it is accessible via a long tunnel from Central Station. The lake is shared with Ft. Gears and Einlund, and Shagariden is reachable via a series of canals. The best viewing point for Tom Servo is located immediately outside of the harbor. | Mt. Paradox is bordered to the east by a lake, which is shared with nearby Ft. Gears and Einlund. Shagariden is also reachable via a series of canals. The harbor provides access to this lake and a holding area for boats. It is accessible from any of the surface exits, but it has its own dedicated tunnel from the #Central Station. |

| The harbor is the permanent berth of the //HMS Petitfour//: an ancient artifact which was salvaged from the The Outlands. The //Petitfour// served with distinction in the War to End All Wars. Today, she is a memorial to voyages of exploration—past and present. Although she wears the Jolly Roger on her gaff, the DTA denies that the ship was acquired by an act of interdimensional piracy. |

In June 2018, the airfield became a full-fledged airport. A brand new control tower, complete with a "plane train" Minecart, were added. These renovations required the removal of the old observation tower, which was one of the oldest structures on the server. The Dwarven Heritage Society briefly objected to its removal but—after an investigation—concluded that the ugly, Samus-blocking edifice "invited expeditious removal." | In June 2018, the airfield became a full-fledged airport. | In August 2018, Ch1b1 returned from a long voyage to The Outlands… with a warship in tow. The old harbor was insufficiently deep to accommodate the ship, however, which had to be moored out at sea. A deeper channel was carved. The single boat launcher was replaced by a pair of docks, and the old cobblestone edifice was demolished. The newly-acquired warship could then be docked. The ship, which was named the //HMS Petitfour//, watches over the harbor to this day. |

| The Mt. Paradox Gate Room underwent substantial modifications in February 2019. The doors and stairwell were moved and enlarged. The security system received a substantial upgrade. A total of 42 redstone blocks of wiring were removed, refactored, and reinstalled. Cosmetic improvements were made using materials not available during the original construction. |
