====== Ender's Cattle ======

After the forceful decommissioning of the [[endersgame|Ender's Game]], a new strategy was devised for harnessing the teleportation powers of the Enderman. "//If the earth cannot be brought to the Enderman,//" mused [[Ch1b1]], "//the Enderman must be brought to the earth.//"

The **Ender's Cattle** affords its users the rare opportunity to look into the eyes of an Enderman without the need for protective eclipse goggles. It is one part fortress and one part stockade... and it's got a view to eye for.

Unlike its more stylish predecessor, the Ender's Cattle was constructed in the Outlands. Although relocating to the exoburbs substantially increases commute times, the farm is built in a quiet neighborhood that is unlikely to be ravaged by a dragon.

Ironically, you will need one enderpearl in order to reach the enderpearl farm. Be sure to beg, borrow, steal, or buy one on margin before setting off. You might also want to bring a bucket of water.

Follow [[outlands_mapping_project#directions|these instructions]] to reach the Outlands Mapping Project. Pass through the map room, continue out through the double doors, and follow the cobblestone road to reach your destination.

===== Notices =====

The area around the Ender's Cattle has been deliberately kept dark in order to allow Endermen to spawn there. Resist the urge to light it up!

The Ender's Cattle features an exposed, lethal drop. Stay on marked paths, pay attention to warning signs in the area, and avoid the red and white-striped danger zone.

===== Instructions =====

  - Ensure that you have a bucket of water for defense.
  - Ascend the watchtower by jump-swimming up the water ladder.
  - Stand well away from the fence.
  - Give the Endermen in the surrounding area your best "come hither" gaze, and they will happily oblige.
     * The Endermen will make their way around the back side of the structure, walk up a flight of stairs, off a cliff, and plummet to their doom.
     * Occasionally, an Enderman might get stuck on the terrain and refuse to enter the pit. If this occurs, pace back and forth a bit. This will usually resolve the problem.
  - Continue to do this until you feel that enough enderpearls have been generated.
  - Before exiting the tower, ensure that you are completely de-aggroed. Listen carefully for the sound of angry Endermen, and direct them into the pit as required.
  - Exit the watchtower. Keep your bucket handy in case it is needed.
  - Descend to the collection room by climbing down the marked ladder, which is located on a footpath immediately to the "right" of the tower. (See the image above.)
