Aransas

The trading village of Aransas is a small village packed with dozens of villagers, all eager to trade. Several villagers roam the city freely, while many stay in fixed trading posts. The largest of these are given general names, while small posts are labeled with their trade. The village is walled to protect against most threats, though Spiders can be a hazard of walking near the walls at night.

Want to fill out your supply of diamond or iron items? Want a mid-level enchantment on an item without having to spin the roulette wheel? Come on down. Aransas is a good place to buy diamond gear, arrows, and enchantments.

Aransas was founded by an expedition led by ManaLocke, from AhmShagar's NPC-village-turned-Iron-Farm. Very few villagers were lost in the voyage; however, one smith died of dysentery.

How to Trade

To accrue emeralds, bring paper, wool, raw chicken, coal, or rotten flesh. To sell these, look for Librarians, Farmers, Blacksmiths, or clerics, respectively. Of these, paper and wool are probably the most dense.

Every offered trade is only good for a certain number (~6 - 10) of trades. When the villager tires of this trade, the arrow representing the trade will be crossed out with a red X. Fear not! Given time, the villager will access his workstation, and refresh his trades. This occurs several times during the day.

In particular, there are two good ways to make money:

Library of Progress

Exclusive to Librarians, the Library offers the best enchanted books on sale on the whole server! Bring Emeralds, and empty books (but a chest nearby has several in a take-a-penny-leave-a-penny style). The table below shows who sells what, for how much, where. The first column lists how many papers per emerald.

Ace's Trades

This two-story, cobblestone structure is in the south-east corner of town. This is the catch-all: villagers are given a chance here to prove their worth. The worthy are given their own trading stands. The villagers can easily trade to someone standing outside the domicile, but entry can be gained via the south-east corner. In this case, use the trapdoor ascent technique to leave.

The villagers here are a very transient population, and as such available trades here cannot be guaranteed.

Blacksmith's Row

East of Ace's Trades, look for the cobblestone-and-iron building with it's lava-fueled forges. Anvil usage may also be negotiated.

Getting There

Aransas is a distance away from most players, but travel is easy by four means.

By Nether (recommended): Aransas is marked as a trading location on the Nether Map, just off the north-south-running North Highway. A horse stable is provided immediately next to the nether gate.

By Rail: Take the red line to the end, out past Trignography. The last connection (Trignography → Aransas) is a full five-minute ride. In addition, Aransas is now connected to the Grand Line.

By Boat: Access is possible from as far as Mt. Paradox bay. Depart Gears's boat docks, and head under the MegaMan, towards Shagar's lands. A path lit underwater will split off from there, heading to the left. Follow the trail of lights to Aransis.

By Air: Once you have an Elytra (talk to ManaLocke if you want help in that regard), Aransas is easily reachable by air. To help navigation, there is a Lodestone in the City Hall; a compass used on this stone will always point to Aransas! To make flying easier, a local librarian sells Riptide.

To leave, look for the netherbrick building of City Hall, which houses both the Nether and minecart connections, or the boat docks behind Steve of Rhodes.
